Can’t project healing onto patient JSG

Joel Solomon Goldsmith

When you are praying or meditating for someone else, do not try to transfer thoughts to him, do not try to know what is right for him or best for him, but sit in a state of complete receptivity, and then let the Father function as your consciousness. You may not receive any message for your patient or student, but you do not need any. He will receive it, and he will receive it not from you, but from the Source of you. Your consciousness acts only as the instrument of contact, and you yourself may never know what the message is, or even whether any message has been received”
― Joel S. Goldsmith

Consciousness vs awareness

CONSCIOUSNESS vs. AWARENESS
Often these words are used interchangeably. They are NOT the same. Consciousness is an INTELLIGENT ENERGY; a state of being involving the awareness of existence. We all have consciousness to some extent, but not all of us are aware.
Awareness is an ACTIVE STATE OF BEING. We may have consciousness in several different dimensions, but we may be aware of only two or three of those dimensions.
EXPANSION of awareness means the ability to become simultaneously aware of more and more of our consciousness. If we are normally aware of the first THREE dimensions of reality, our goal may be to become aware of the other dimensions as well.

You actually can only judge yourself GR

IF YOU FIND THIS HARD TO PROCESS, REMEMBER WE’RE ALWAYS DEFERRING TO SPIRITUAL REALITY. rjs

PURSAH: We’d like to leave you with a thought from the Course you may want to remember when you’re tempted to judge someone. Whether you’re driving down the street, working with people, socializing, watching television or reading something on your computer, if you feel the addiction of judgment assert itself, remember J’s words from the section in the Text called “The Self-Accused”: …Learn this, and learn it well, for it is here delay of happiness is shortened by a span of time you cannot realize. You never hate your brother for his sins, but only for your own. Whatever form his sins appear to take, it but obscures the fact that you believe them to be yours, and therefore meriting a “just”attack. You judge only yourself, and you forgive only yourself.

Ego’s plan of forgiveness ineffective GR

It never happened!

[… W]hen you forgive, you shouldn’t fall for the ego’s brand of forgiveness —which is the world’s ineffective and traditional way of forgiving others. As the Course tells you: The ego, too, has a plan of forgiveness because you are asking for one, though not of the right teacher. The ego’s plan, of course, makes no sense and will not work. By following its plan you will merely place yourself in an impossible situation, to which the ego always leads you. The ego’s plan is to have you see error clearly first, and then overlook it. Yet how can you overlook what you have made real? By seeing it clearly, you have made it real and cannot overlook it. 38 Your brothers and sisters —which includes your mother and father —haven’t really done what you think they’ve done, and remembering that fact is vital.

Breaking up of former self JSG

The crucifixion of the self is accomplished when there is nothing left for which you wish to pray. To those unfolding on the spiritual path, come the discordant experiences of human life, until the transition from “this world” has been completely accomplished.
The desire is to avoid or escape these inharmonies of mind, body, or economic affairs – but this cannot be done, since the discords result solely from the battle with Spirit and “the flesh,” that is, with spiritual consciousness and material sense.
To those on the way, harmony in human affairs often is a lack of spiritual awakening; and, therefore, when the battle, leading to the overcoming of “this world” is on, the initiate will remain as quiet as possible under the adverse circumstances, endeavoring to refrain from fighting erroneous conditions and insofar as possible “letting” the warfare go on until the moment of transition arrives.
When your spiritual study is sincere, the breaking-up of your material world –the desertion of friends, students, or family, a change of health or other outer activity — often ushers in the spiritual transition, or rebirth. This is the attainment of that which you have sought. A tremendous movement is taking place as the initiate discerns the difference between physical harmony and spiritual wholeness.

ACIM 365 days lessons & reading

Has anyone had the desire to “do the Course (ACIM)” but put it off coz of the book’s length?
I’ve got good news for you: since it consists of 365 short lessons, you could do (as I am again) one per day along with 10-15 min. reading. In one year you won’t be able to recognize yourself!
This short but rigorous mind-training might be just what you need:

Prayer prior to our enlightenment JSG

Before our enlightenment in truth, we prayed for things and persons; in other words, we sought to gain some personal end. With his great vision, Emerson wrote: “Prayer that craves a particular commodity, anything less than all good, is vicious.” Then this wise man defines prayer for us: “Prayer is the contemplation of the facts of life from the highest point of view. It is the soliloquy of a beholding and jubilant soul. It is the spirit of God pronouncing His works good. . . . As soon as the man is one with God, he will not beg.” Prayer must not be understood as going to God for something because, as Emerson continues, “Prayer as a means to effect a private end is meanness and theft.”

Not same level of reality ACIM

The injunction “Be of one mind” is the statement for revelation-readiness. My request “Do this in remembrance of me” is the appeal for cooperation from miracle workers. The two statements are not in the same order of reality. Only the latter involves an awareness of time, since to remember is to recall the past in the present. Time is under my direction, but timelessness belongs to God. In time we exist for and with each other. In timelessness we coexist with God.

Who told you? HF

Who told you? My doctor, his charts, his machines, his X-rays. Well does God know anything about this, and you’re about to say, “Well I suppose so,” but it occurs to you that if God knew something about this, how come God is letting it happen? How come God is letting a million plus die every year, how come God is selecting, fifty thousand youths and sending them away and saying, “Here, get your brains shot out?” How come God permits two thousand to be massacred in five minutes? How can God permit two million Blacks to be massacred in Biafra? How come God permits war after war after war, killing off what seems to be his own creation? Is that what the human mind sees, is it truth, is it what God sees? And finally, we see we have been creating a monster called God, a monster who kills, who permits killing, who encourages killing. Then we look at the real monster and find out it is the human mind; the misperceiving mind, the miscreating mind, the unillumined mind, that mind which walks the earth in a body of clay, and sees what is not there.

Shouldn’t spiritualize things in the universe GR

The ego, or wrong mind, makes everything that appears to happen on the level of form. Spirit makes nothing happen on the level of form, which is why you shouldnt spiritualize events or objects in the universe. The right mind gives the Holy Spirits interpretation of the level of form, leading you – and by you we mean that observatory part of the mind that has identified with and this bound itself to the ego – back home. Home is unchangeable spirit.
