I think there are a lot of us out here: rescuers, wanting to love and bless people right into the kingdom! But we’ve got to heed Chuck Crisco’s wisdom and honor the God-given vehicle that will bring him all the way in. Lots of love, lots of prayer and lots of letting go on both our parts will bring the trust that is required:
“Love doesn’t mean we are required to fix others. Being a “rescuer” often short circuits the learning that other person cannot get any other way or bypasses an insight of wisdom that can only come when they get it from God.
“Lift others burdens that are in excess, but don’t feel obligated to save the world. There is already a Savior of the world and its not you.”
Have you been playing the role of judge, jury and executioner lately? If so, do you have any plan of discontinuing any time soon? Are you really sure you’ve understood the intent and purpose of your target? And where does God’s agape love fit into the picture?
May I say a few words of encouragement to the Gay community?
Please trust me when I say that I hate religion but I love God.
Please trust me when I say that this is not about preaching (as if I had some special connection that you don’t have).
The exact opposite is what I’m trying to convey.
You have every right to an intimate relation with God that any so-called straight person has.
God – that Being that we all call out to when we’ve got our back to the wall – He created you and He loves you.
Not everyone knows this. Some people think that they’re out of the loop because religion has brainwashed them into thinking so.
I am not here to moralize to you: I honestly don’t believe that the way to connect with Him who loves us more than anything else has a list of rules or morals that need to be met.
God is very, very accessible to you.
Let’s give Him a try right now, okay?
So, what do we need to do? Read? Pray? Think? Visit?
Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.
It’s all about simply becoming aware.
Just for the sake of clarity, remember that God loves you soooo much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to reach out to us. I only brought that up because I’m not talking about many gods, but the one God who created the universe … and … us!
So, how do we become aware?
Right here, right now, let’s connect … I mean, let’s become fully aware of God’s (Jesus’) presence.
Let everything else go right now. Be aware that the Creator of the universe is right here.

Do you feel Him there? A little?
You’ll feel Him more and more with practice.
Are your eyes a little moist? Well, so are His.
That’s how much He loves you.

Well, guess what? …The BIBLE already said that thousands of years ago in Genesis 7:11 by saying that when God flooded the earth in Noah’s day, that He opened up all the FOUNTAINS OF THE GREAT DEEP under the earth, which sprung up into the air and flooded the whole earth.

God never has, and never will use a bullet to solve a problem. He does not call upon the psychotic to dispense his wrath, or punish sin. If he did, any outrage we felt at the actions of such individuals would be a form of rebellion. But all images of the divine who do such things I’ll gladly join a rebellion against.

It took me a couple of times reading this to understand what you’re saying. I think I agree, provided that the problem to be solved is dispensing wrath or punishing sin. Aren’t there other problems that can be solved with a bullet? For example, taking out the psychotic who imagine themselves as called to dispense wrath or punish sin before they get very far along in actually doing it?

Not sure how helpful this may or may not be, but I’ll take a stab at it. Man, with limited knowledge of the divine nature, reluctantly uses temporary expedients, knowing full well that they are abhorrent to God. Of course the quickest and best way to realize the perfection of Christ in us is to turn our full attention to Him and keep it there. In a specific instance, shooting a killer while he’s reloading is far preferable to … well, you get the picture. But what I think we’re here for is to come away with the conviction that turning wholeheartedly to God within ushers us instantaneously to His perfect kingdom.

I think that man’s tendency to want to reduce God Almighty in any way is the culprit. Human apprehension can reach to the stars but God Himself cannot be compelled to do anything, given that He has done all that needs to be done.
I am afraid of Christians that think they have it all and are not pursuing more. This is one of the biggest dangers of modern Charismatic Christianity. It is a reaction against the orphan hearted Charismatic prayer movements which always seem to be crying out to an absentee God. Yet there is a tension between being complete in Christ and pressing on toward the high calling and drawing near which causes Him to draw near. He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.
