Unceasing prayer = let God do the talking

WHEN YOU PRAY AT ALL TIMES, IT GETS EASIER AND EASIER – AND MORE AND MORE FUN. HE WILL EVEN TAKE OVER AND DO THE TALKING FOR YOU – IF YOU’LL ONLY LET HIM !!

“Pray at all times!!! NOT ONLY when in trouble or when desperate. See, this is the reason why most individuals think God takes too long to answer prayers. Pray, pray, please pray, at all times! That way you won’t get into desperate situations!!”

Snow and freezing rain

I . DID . A VERY . COURAGEOUS . THING . TODAY:
I OPENED MY WINDOW AND PUT MY HEAD OUT !
……………….. Snow, sleet, rain and freezing rain
slapped me in the face from the north AND the
south, east AND west, from above, beneath
& both sides, showing no mercy – Right!
Left! . Up! . Down! . The threatening
wind was blowing so furiously
that I began to wonder
about the wisdom
of my having
opened my
window.

Snow & freezing rain slapped me in the face from the north and the south, the east and the west, underneath and above, so I closed the window.
Snow & freezing rain slapped me in the face from the north and the south, the east and the west, underneath and above, so I closed the window.

What if?

What if I were to tell you
That I can take everything
That ever happened to you
Throughout your entire life
And make it so worth it
For you now, and furthermore
That I can show you exactly
How everything is being used
In the larger scheme of things
To make every single aspect
Of what you thought was a lost life
A revelation to you of your present
And perfect be – ing?

Compartmentalizing is by nature dangerous.

A BIG WORD AND A BIG WARNING
(Dr. Robin J. Starbuck)
There is a word that summarizes a major weak point or shortcoming among Christian believers who struggle to maintain their exalted focus: compartmentalization. They want to follow Jesus to the hilt owing to their unswerving love for Him. They learn how to detect feelings and behaviors that fail to honor their Lord and Savior but at a certain point their efforts are completed and they go back to their cares of the day. That’s when all the little bitty concerns, struggles, worries, preoccupations, wanderings, doubts, temptations, and all other forms of unbelief come rushing back in. And they (we) don’t even realize it. Each little concern has its own private compartment that it slips into just as neatly as you please.

I PERSONALLY AM NOT A FAN OF PSYCHOLOGICAL METHODOLOGIES AS AN ASSIST IN REGROUPING OUR ONENESS WITH ABBA (DADDY, GOD), but I’m including a good thorough look at this issue to drive home just how serious our neglect becomes when left entirely unattended:

“Compartmentalization is an unconscious psychological defense mechanism used to avoid cognitive dissonance, or the mental discomfort and anxiety caused by a person’s having conflicting values, cognitions, emotions, beliefs, etc. within themselves.

“Compartmentalization allows these conflicting ideas to co-exist by inhibiting direct or explicit acknowledgement and interaction between separate compartmentalized self states.[1]
Psychoanalytic views
Psychoanalysis considers that whereas isolation separates thoughts from feeling, compartmentalization separates different (incompatible) cognitions from each other.[2] As a secondary, intellectual defense, it may be linked to rationalization.[3] Related also is the phenomenon of neurotic typing, whereby everything must be classified into mutually exclusive and watertight categories.[4]
Otto Kernberg has used the term bridging interventions for the therapist’s attempts to straddle and contain contradictory and compartmentalized components of the patient’s mind.[5]
Vulnerability

“Compartmentalization may lead to hidden vulnerabilities in those who use it as a major defence mechanism.[6]
Those suffering from borderline personality disorder will often divide people into all good versus all bad, to avoid the conflicts removing the compartments would inevitably bring, using denial or indifference to protect against any indications of contradictory evidence.[7]
Using indifference towards a better viewpoint is a normal and common example of this. It can be caused by someone having used multiple compartment ideals and having been uncomfortable with modifying them, at risk of being found incorrect. This often causes double-standards, and bias.
Social identity
Conflicting social identities may be dealt with by compartmentalizing them and dealing with each only in a context-dependent way.[8]” TheFreeDictionary © Farlex, Inc. 2015. Version: 5.0.5 PRO.

If I have startled you, precious reader, and instilled a modicum of deep suspicion and concern here, then my work is finished! But I fear this is not the case.

Compartmentalizing our issues is the way of the human animal and is not an easy behavior to overcome. This is the time, however, to turn wholeheartedly to the full healing power of God. Human psychology is the antipode of divine psychology and must be dispensed with, with all due haste! In God, we trust the supernatural and it behooves us to recall that God functions on many realms much, much higher than our own so He is certainly capable of dealing with our mundane issues.

If you have relied on God innumerable times for guidance and healing – and found Him to be most present and faithful, as the author has – then you may have observed that some really remarkable and truly wonderful healings that we’ve experienced immediately start getting explained away by the unbelieving world which loves to tap into unwary compartmentalization on our part! Once this hideous detriment to an otherwise inescapable acknowledgement of God’s everpresence and love is found out, it can be rooted out and supplanted by the multi-dimensional, infinite, agape love of Jesus.

Self-defeating prayer

Most of us have indulged ourselves unwittingly in the self-defeating act of praying or petitioning God for healing, knowing that it fits perfectly within His will, … AND THEN … slipping into unbelief, fear and doubt…. AFTER THAT, we think we can just pick up again and expect the healing to arrive, as if we had never invited unbelief with its accompanying doubt and dread – in for a cup of coffee and chat.

Time is running out
Time is running out

Ôh, the glory of our risen Lord!

HAVE YOU EVER TRIED TO WRAP YOUR MIND AROUND WHAT JOHN MUST HAVE FELT WHEN HE SAW THE RISEN CHRIST ? . JOHN WAS THE BELOVED DISCIPLE THAT LEANED AFFECTIONATELY ON JESUS AT THE TABLE . NOW JOHN IS EXILED ON PATMOS AND THE RISEN JESUS APPEARS:

His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; . CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT ?

[15] And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. . THIS IS THE SAME MAN WHO WALKED AND TALKED WITH THEM EVERYDAY . . . !!!

[16] And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
[17] And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
Revelation 1:14-17 KJV

JOHN, THE YOUNGEST, CLOSEST DISCIPLE, NEVER EVEN FATHOMED HIS LORD AND SAVIOR WITHOUT THE TRAPPINGS OF THE FLESH. HOW COULD HE HAVE ? . THE FLESH WAS RIGHT THERE, COVERING, AS IT WERE, THE REAL JESUS !!! … NOW JESUS TOLD HIM:

I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am ALIVE FOR EVERMORE, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Revelation 1:18 KJV

RIGHT NOW WE LIVE IN A CORRUPTIBLE BODY AND OUR PHYSICAL SENSES CANNOT FEEL THE SPIRITUAL REALITY.
Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
2 Corinthians 5:16 KJV

WE CAN SEE IN THE SPIRIT IF WE LOOK BEYOND WHAT THE HUMAN, MATERIAL SENSES TELL US, RIGOROUSLY DENY THE CARNAL MIND’S HIDEOUS LIMITATIONS, AND SEE . . .

Therefore if any man be in Christ (BORN AGAIN), he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

WHEN JESUS TOLD JOHN – ON THAT LONELY ISLE OF PATMOS – TO “WRITE”, THANK GOD THAT HE OBEYED !!

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. [54] So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1 Corinthians 15:53-54 KJV

It’s all quite mind-boggling!! Without a mortal body, Jesus was enormous, with eyes of flame and stars in his hands with a voice like Niagara Falls: this wasn’t a dream, vision or divination. Imagine stuffing all of that plus infinity itself into a human body!!!!!

I’m convinced that we believers who spend a great deal of time in the spirit see and hear and know a lot of often indescribable things which escape the average nay-sayer. rjs

Andrew Wommack on Kathryn Kuhlman

ANDREW WOMMACK on KATHRYN KUHLMAN
(by Robin Starbuck)

I learned of Kathryn Kuhlman many years ago, but only felt “led” recently to study her out. I had been quite impressed with the multitudes of healings that she had effected, but I do remember reasoning within myself that if a mere 10% of the healings were completely verifiable, 10% of three million total healings equals three hundred thousand! So, needless to say, I remained impressed.

Yesterday, however Andrew Wommack mentioned another initially troublesome statistic, namely that

Andrew Wommack on Kathryn Kuhlman
Andrew Wommack on Kathryn Kuhlman
90% of the healings ultimately were reversed. So my lightening-fast mind concluded that (a) 30,000 healings withstood the test of time and (b) I was still impressed.

But my real purpose in writing this essay is to refocus: Andrew Wommack with his Charis Bible College is all about discipleship, i.e., teaching people to access and depend on a personal relationship with God in which they can heal themselves and others. That’s where my interests lie as well.

My hope here is to urge not only a renewed appreciation for all the interest in healing as well as the successes that did occur with Kathryn Kuhlman but also to take the entire situation to the next level: WHY WASN’T IT PATENTLY OBVIOUS THEN AND NOW THAT PEOPLE WHO HAD JUST COME OUT OF 30+ YEARS OF SERVITUDE TO WHEELCHAIRS AND MULTIFARIOUS OTHER LIFE-THREATENING CONDITIONS ABSOLUTELY MUST TOTALLY IMMERSE THEMSELVES IN THE VERY WORD OF GOD WHICH FREED THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE ?

Merely going back to the selfsame mindset that kept them in bondage for so many years was – and is – a recipe for DISASTER! These just-healed thousands of people should have not walked, but RUN to Charis Bible College to learn how to MAINTAIN their newly acquired healings. rjs

Teach me to listen.

DEAR GOD,

ENABLE ME TO BE

BRUTALLY HONEST

WITH YOU

And with myself

(which is the same thing).

Teach me how to shut up

And listen

Only to you

Right now

At this moment

(This is my prayer.)

Shut up all the distractions

Shut up the warring

junk

And simply receive.

Listen with my heart.

Let it fill my soul.

Not bringing up anything

Just listening

And breathing.

Teach me too listen.
Teach me too listen.
