Meditation with Joel S. Goldsmith

Take that word “I” and look at it. You see now how you could meditate. Realize that I am closer to me than my breathing. I am closer to me than my own hands and feet.

[Robin interjected: God is the Self, the one that does the seeing, the one that does the lifting and the thinking and the feeling and the projecting That’s who I am.]

I who am in the midst of thee is mighty. This very I that I am, the bread of life, the wine, the water, the center from which flows my whole daily Human Experience. The issues of Life are Harmony, peace, Joy, dominion, which flow out from within me affecting my world, my body, my home my Human Relationships, my family, my business and community.

All power is embodied in the I that I am. I may not fear what a man can do to me. I mean I can’t fear what Mortal circumstance or condition can do to me for I am the embodiment of God power. I embody God power, God being, God presence, God dominion. God gave me dominion over all that there is, over the sky, the air, the Earth and beneath the water. I … I embody Dominion. I am Dominion. I have dominion. Do I need anything? I have meat that the world knows not of. I have it, I embody it, I include it. In the I that I am I can feed the multitudes, heal, comfort, and help the multitudes because God has given me Dominion. The spirit of the Lord God is upon me. The whole presence of God constitutes the very I that I am. My being is made up of God. God constitutes the I that I am and by this relationship has given me Dominion. There is no power to act upon me that is outside of me. No power of weather or climate, or food, infection or Contagion, economics, philosophy, theology. They’re not powers external to my being. ALL power is embodied in the I that I already am because this God power is gentle and good and it flows out from me like a benediction to every one who reaches my Consciousness who touches my consciousness be they Friend or Foe, Saint or sinner. I do not need to have desires for I have within the I that I am a power of fulfillment. There can be no unfulfilled desires or wants or needs for I have plenty of the power of Resurrection, the Lost Years of the Locust, and if you meditate that way for some weeks or months or maybe even years you will see that you will reach the State of Consciousness that it will no longer be necessary. You will just sit down and instantly feel the spirit of God upon you. There will not have to be any words or thoughts because the experience of it will be there. When the experience is there you don’t need any words about it or thoughts about it.

MISCELLANEOUS NOTES ON SUPPLY
The word of God is supply.
We must open our consciousness to receive the word of God.
Without the word of God we have no supply.
God’s grace is infinite, omnipresent and without favor.
God’s grace is omnipresence
When I open my consciousness, I receive it in my spirit.
Then it translates itself into food, clothing, money.
Our only activity is receptivity.
We don’t stand with a begging bowl.
We only need to do those things that are necessary.
In the early part of our awakening, we must return to open our Consciousness 5-6-7 times a day.
God never said that husbands should support their wives.
God’s grace will also fall on females.
We’re each going to realize that as we receive grace from God we’ll contribute more to each other.
Eventually neither male nor female will have to work for a living.
More and more it will appear that both sexes are dependant on the kingdom of God.
As we open our consciousness in prayer we open to life and love.
Through the silence we open to God grace: life and love.
The life of God is not disease.
Love is the substance or fulfillment of supply.
Praying for food and clothing and housing is paganism.
God’s Love is the substance of all form.
We are opening our Consciousness to the substance of all form.
We are realizing that God’s grace is closer to us than breathing.
This is God’s grace and God’s supply.
When the religious world doesn’t receive His supply it’s because God doesn’t have material things:
He doesn’t know these things.
You cannot ask God for anything.
It would be like telling Him You don’t know what I need, so I’ll tell You.
All that the Father hath is mine.
All that the Father is is mine.
The kingdom of God is within you.
I and my Father are One.
Thy grace is my sufficiency.
We are receptive to the love of God within us.
The ears are open, the mind is awake.
I and my Father are One whether I am a saint or a sinner.
The adulterer, the syphilitic, the thief on the cross all received God’s grace.
When?
The moment they opened their consciousness to it!
There are things that are wrong with many of us that none of the ministers and none of the doctors can cure.
Trying to become good before we go to God it’s like putting the cart before the horse.
Let’s go to God before we are good and find that the going to God provides the goodness!
Let us forget for a moment whether we are Saint or sinner.
Let us forget whether we are male or female.
Let us forget whether we have some measure of spiritual attainment.
Let us forget all that
Let us open our Consciousness to Divine Grace.
Thy grace is my sufficiency.
Thy grace is omnipresent.
Whether I am at this moment a saint or sinner.
Thy grace is my sufficiency in sickness and in health.
God has never disinherited anyone.
This is the secret of the spiritual life.
In that moment when you open your Consciousness to the nature of the Divine, though your sins are scarlet you are white as snow.
Sometimes our sins – our human traits – persist, but ignore that.
From the moment that your Consciousness is open to receive an inner Grace – from that moment on your sins begin to be dissolved.
For some people it’s an instantaneous process.
From that moment that you have opened your consciousness the penalties begin to be dissolved and you commence to live under grace.
Outwardly it may appear as if nothing has happened for a while.
Or in some cases something the very dramatic begins to happen.
But the point is this, we live by grace.
We live by grace and in the moment that we recognize this and abide in the truth we live not by might nor by power.
We do not live by our brains, our virtues.
We live by divine grace.
From that moment on as we abide in the memory of that the new way opens – not always as quickly as we would like.
But be assured they are disappearing from the moment that you have recognized I and my father are one and I live by grace – by God’s grace.
The false appetites begin to disappear, the bad habits begin to disappear….

Joel S. Goldsmith

Joel Solomon Goldsmith (March 10, 1892–June 17, 1964) was an American spiritual author, teacher, spiritual healer, and mystic. He founded The Infinite Way movement.[1][2]
Early years
Joel Goldsmith was born in New York City on March 10, 1892.[3] Goldsmith’s parents, non-practicing Jews, had been married in New York City in 1891 and Joel was their first child. They subsequently had another son two years later followed by a daughter two years after that.
Goldsmith’s father became critically ill while in England 1915 and word was sent to the Goldsmith family to come for the body. However, according to Goldsmith, his father was healed by a Christian Science practitioner in London[3] From his early adulthood, Goldsmith had many spiritual experiences. He was a healer. He spent many years in spiritual studies, reading original scriptures of Aramaic, Greek and Sanskrit origins. His first book, “The Infinite Way” was published 1948.[4]
After serving in the Marines during World War I, Goldsmith returned to work in the garment district of New York City where he owned his own business. While on a return trip from Europe, he developed pneumonia. As his father before him, Goldsmith was healed by a Christian Science practitioner, who happened to be on-board his ship at the time. In 1928, Goldsmith began to have strangers approach him on the street asking for prayer and healing. He had no religious training whatsoever, but these people were healed. To seek answers about this phenomenon, Goldsmith first entered the Christian Science Church and worked at Rikers Island prison as a First Reader. After 11 years, he left the Christian Science Church and moved to Boston, where he set up his own office. He later moved to California before World War II and maintained a successful healing practice there. In 1948 Goldsmith wrote the book, “The Infinite Way”, which came to the attention of Willing Publishers. The title of this book also became the name associated with the spiritual message and work of Goldsmith, ref. The Taped Lectures of Joel S. Goldsmith 1950-1964.
The Infinite Way
Goldsmith self-published his most famous work, The Infinite Way, in 1947 based on letters to patients and students, as well as The Spiritual Interpretation of Scripture.
The writings which followed were transcriptions of his lectures which had been recorded on the first wire recorders in the late 1940s. These were distributed from the Goldsmith Publishing. They were: The Master Speaks, The First, Second, Third San Francisco Lecture Series, Consciousness Unfolding, God the Substance of All Form, and Metaphysical Notes. These original books were later republished during Goldsmith’s lifetime by publishers in various countries, making over fifty books.
As Goldsmith was approached by large publishing houses around the world to produce books of his talks, he enlisted the help of Lorraine Sinkler and her sister Valbourg to edit his books which were generally compiled from various lecture transcripts.
Goldsmith’s insistence on “no organization” insured that his message remained a personal journey with leaders naturally evolving from new generations. There is no service, ritual, dogma, ceremony in the practice of the Infinite Way. Goldsmith students can be found in all walks of life, in all religions. Goldsmith’s message is one that can be read and heard for a lifetime, always allowing new understandings to unfold in each individual.
Goldsmith stressed meditation practice in his teaching. The method he generally taught was short frequent meditation periods throughout the day. Joel told his student of 18 years, Walter Starcke, that the main reason to meditate was that through reaching the inner silence one could hear the still small voice and receive its intuitive guidance.[5] His teaching also stressed spiritual healing through conscious contact with God.
Death
Joel Solomon Goldsmith died on Jun 17, 1964, at the Piccadilly Hotel, Westminster, London W1, England. His body was cremated at Golders Green in London on June 18, 1964, and his ashes and effects where released to his widow, Emma Goldsmith, to take them back to their home in Hawaii. Both were interred in Sun City,Arizona.[6]

Whatever it is in you that is living, that is projecting these concepts of God or man – whatever it is within you that is your very life or being – whatever that is – that is God. That is all there is that is closer to you than breathing.
It’s your SELF, your BEING.
