Suppose you have now proved it out enough that you could look at anyone and know this is true of them too. They’re suffering with a false Pilate. They are suffering with a claim because they do not know that there is no claim in their Self. They’re not living in their Self. What do I have to do for them? But only their Self is there. That self which they think they are, isn’t there. The Spirit made no dictators. The Spirit doesn’t permit killing. The Spirit doesn’t permit diseases. All that was made was made by the Spirit. Then what is this? This false self has a false claim. Don’t get rid of the false claim; get rid of the false self. How do you get rid of it? You know who is there. The Self of God which is your Self is there. And that’s what you do every time you are faced with a claim from another individual. Don’t get rid of their claim; see them as they are; they are not there. The invisible Spirit of God which is their Self and your Self is there and you don’t have to get rid of the false self or the false claim; they are not there. The only Self that is there, is there, and it has no claim and rest in that Word. That resting is saying to Pilate, “Thou couldst have no power over me;” even though you think you are going to going to crucify me. And if Pilate had said to him that Pilate had a sore throat or Pilate had a bad heart, he could have known there was no Pilate there to have a sore throat or a bad heart but he could only know it because he knew who was there. His invisible Spirit, the Spirit of God was there. And this is the truth that you and I must learn to face. ■■Day in and day out we’ll come again to the same problem in a different form, or shape, or name. Always because we are putting false persons, false selves, where only the Invisible Spirit of God can be.■

For so many years I loved “God”, so deeply, that on a regular basis I wept/ached to be closer thru intense seeking and prayer. I wanted to be closer, closer than close, and I remember the times my face was wet with tears of my longing. Then the day came when a shift took place within me and I was not only “closer than close”…in astonishment, I sat in the utter awareness that I AM THAT! Not my body, but my very Being… the same I AM that Jesus knew he was. I and what has been termed the “Father”…are one and the same. My longing had reached its height and suddenly made a u-turn…right into my own heart…exactly where Jesus had pointed…WITHIN YOU! The veil was lifted from my eyes. There was none but ONE that remained. No “with”…no “in”…only I AM. One of the amazing things I notice now is that the (often) anguished seeking of my (then) perception of what “God” was…is gone. How does one express sufficiently…what Wholeness feels like. True, genuine Wholeness. Not a Wholeness that needs my “faith” to manifest or exist…but a Wholeness that just IS…and has always been. ❤

I’m not sure if I have EVER met a truly enlightened person who hasn’t gone through some really deep shtuff – usually a number of times. What it feels like to me is I’m being poked, even goaded, to get the hell out of lower level mentation and cast off all dualism. Of course the challenges have to come in ways that I think I can’t handle, or how else could I be alerted? Now when a negative suggestion comes I say “thank you, I’ll dismiss you and the side trip I just took back into the dreaded darkness.” I’ve had some God-awful stuff to face but it’s all become part of my waking up. CAN YOU CHECK THE ACCURACY OF MY DESCRIPTION?
I would like to give a brief but FAIR DESCRIPTION of the OTHER METHOD of returning to your authentic self (healing) which I do not usually choose … just to show myself and the world that representing the OTHER METHOD fairly is possible:
The OTHER METHOD is the PROGRESSIVE PATH: State your claim (problem) as clearly and completely as possible and look for more clarification re. cause, symptoms, duration, level of anxiety, what has been attempted so far, etc. Go deeply into what you are feeling, looking carefully for connections between your level of anxiety and the manifestations of fear and pain. Rule out all self-recrimination as well as blaming others. Keep going deeper and deeper until all the symptoms dissolve in your application of acceptance and love.
CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF MY OWN DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRESSIVE PATH IS ACCURATE? It’s not my path of choice, mostly because of my many years of opting for the Direct Path instead. But I do confess to having applied the Progressive Path on quite a few occasions in the past.

PRO – DUALITY !!!!!
Duality is an essential feature of the human mind. Our mind makes use of duality to understand the world, to make sense of it.
Had our mind not been dual, I don’t think we could ever possibly describe the world around us. There would be no language, no words, no measurements, nothing. The mind is what it is because of duality.
Duality means understanding reality by means of the opposites. The human mind learns by opposites- long and short, thick and thin, near and far, hot and cold, strong and weak, up and down, good and bad, beautiful and ugly, positive and negative, and so on. You cannot know long without knowing the short, thick without knowing the thin, hot without knowing the cold, and so on.
The subject/object split- the fundamental duality
Your mind enables you to be a point of observation in time and space. What this basically means is that you’re the centre (subject) and the world around you is your observing field (object). This basic duality or subject/object split gives rise to all other dualities.
To put it more simply, the fact that you’re an observing being allows you to understand reality and you do that by using your mind.
Opposites define each other
If there were no opposites, everything would lose its meaning. Let’s say you have absolutely no idea what ‘short’ means. I had a magic wand that I waved over your head and it made you completely lose the idea of ‘short’.
Before this magic ritual, if you saw a tall building you might have said, “That’s a tall building”. You were able to say that only because you knew what ‘short’ meant. You had something to compare tallness with i.e. shortness.
Let me give you my brief summary of the nature of mind in 1 short paragraph…
The mind is a product of duality or the subject/object split that we find ourselves in when we come into this world. It may also be said that the subject/object split is the product of the mind. Whichever way around it is, this separateness from the universe allows our mind to function the way it does so that it can comprehend reality and make sense of it.
True maturity is attained when a person becomes aware of the fact that the mind understands the world by means of duality. When the person becomes aware of his dual nature, he begins to transcend it. He steps back from his mind and realizes, for the very first time, that he has the power to observe and control his own mind.
He realizes that he has levels of consciousness and the higher he climbs the ladder of awareness the more power he exerts on his own mind. He’s no longer riding the ‘sometimes up and sometimes down’ waves of duality but has now arrived at the shore where-from he can watch/observe/study the waves.
Instead of cursing the negative, he realizes that positive cannot exist without it. He realizes that happiness loses its meaning when there’s no sadness. Instead of being caught up in his emotions unconsciously, he becomes conscious of them, objectifies and understands them.

But take the word “I”…is there actually any other Joel but I? Am I not Joel? And can I be limited by some thing, person or condition other than my acceptance mentally of limitation or bondage?
Here I sit…I, Joel. I am free…I am unbound…I am true being…I am all that I am. I look out and behold a body…my body…her body. What is that to me? Do they restrict or limit me? If…only if I accept mentally such limitation. The mind is the avenue of limitation, through acceptance of belief, the belief that I can be touched, reached, affected by outside forces, powers…or rather, that there are outside forces or powers. I am and must be the only power since I sit here as I…the intelligence, the life, the source of activity and supply.
The secret is in the word I. The secret is the awareness that I Joel, am the I…the unrestricted, unlimited, the infinite, the eternal I. But then I must first recognize this…I, Joel must first recognize this: the further that what I behold as person, circumstance, and condition are not limiting, binding, circumscribing, except as I would mentally accept person or condition as power, as power of limitation. As I write this, I feel no bloated egotism as if I were trying to be or claim something I am not. I “feel” that there is only this I that I am and that I am that unrestricted being. All sense of a lesser selfhood has disappeared. There is truly only one Self…and I am that being…I, Joel, am I…I, Joel, am Joel…Joel and I are not two but one and I am that one. It is as simple as that. Now I actually “see” and “feel” that I am I…that I am Joel…that there is no other I to Joel but the I that Joel is which is the I that I am. Also, I “see” that any sense of restriction or limitation is a mentally entertained one, not an actual condition. This must have been that moment of Mosses…the realization or actual knowledge that there is only one I. I Joel am I. Is that not true? This must be what Isaiah knew. There is no me but me…surely I am I. Is there any other I, any other Joel, any other Self? How can I get…acquire…attain any other I…this is the I that was in Christ Jesus. There isn’t any other. This I even as Joel has no limitation, no end, no bondage, since I am the power. Probably I is the power, the Life, the activity, the intelligence.
At the moment, I am peaceful, serene, calm. Outwardly nothing has changed…but there is a calmness, a peace, that “feels” only one I and seems to know I am that I…there is no other I about.

Problems with O.T. law -Dr. Laura! CC
In her radio show, Dr Laura Schlesinger said that, as an observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance.
The following response is an open letter to Dr. Laura, penned by a US resident, which was posted on the Internet. It’s funny, as well as informative:
Dear Dr. Laura:
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God’s Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination … End of debate.
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God’s Laws and how to follow them.
- Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations.
A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can’t I own Canadians? - I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
- I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of Menstrual uncleanliness – Lev.15: 19-24.
The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offence. - When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odour for the Lord – Lev.1:9.
The problem is my neighbours. They claim the odour is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them? - I have a neighbour who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death.
Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it? - A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination, Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don’t agree. Can you settle this? Are there ‘degrees’ of abomination?
- Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?
- Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
- I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
- My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn’t we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I’m confident you can help.
