Mystics reading recommendations – FJ

Floria, Thank you. In my younger days, I read many of the Catholic Mystics (because that’s where the primary Christian material is found). (They often speak from their religious tradition, which you overlook.) St. Teresa’s works, John of the Cross, Catherine of Genoa, and Catherine of Siena, Padre Pio, Francis of Assisi, etc. The writings of Jeanne Guyon, the works of Meister Eckhart and Evelyn Underhill. Read “The Power of Now”. Then, don’t forget all the writings of the Buddhist mystics. There is so much available. Usually one thing leads to another. <3

The old you never did exist – RJS

I THINK I HAVE SOMETHING very important to tell anyone who is about to step up their level of Spiritual understanding and application. Let’s say it’s you for example. You discover there’s a wonderful revelation awaiting you as soon as you demonstrate (FOR YOURSELF) that you can handle it.
It comes to you as clear as crystal that you could shore up a few things in the mental realm by focusing a little closer on God. You do so and some areas of wavering drop off. Wow does that ever feel so right and good.
Here’s the caveat: you just gave up some stuff that had been quite comfortable in the “human” realm. You haven’t worked these things through – humanly speaking – NOR SHOULD YOU HAVE TO. But when you suddenly return 100% to the human realm, your so-called body-mind isn’t ready for you. It wants the old you back and you fail to realize the necessity of declaring to it that the former you doesn’t exist anymore (it never did, but that’s for later). If you give in to its pressure you’ll recreate the old you and drown out your newly attained inspiration.
All you need to do is to turn emphatically on the former you – just look at it very, very intently. You’ll see very quickly that in fact it never did exist. With love, RJS

Upward Dimension: Earthbound VS Landlocked -jsg

This Body Is Not Me
We are earthbound and we are landlocked until we break out by going upward. Only as our vision goes upward out of this body, out of this world of force, do we get up into a free strata, a free realm, where we’re no longer body locked, landlocked, earthbound, but where we are free souls. You know that all of this world, except the mystics or those on the mystical path, are locked up in their bodies. Their body is the most real thing to them. They’re fastened into it and can’t escape from it, and that’s where their misery comes—being landlocked inside of the body, being earthbound inside of the body and having no freedom.

The very first freedom that an individual attains is when they can look in the mirror and say that this body is not Me. This body is not Me. I am Me. I, I am Me. I am Joel. Not this body, this body isn’t Joel. I am Joel, and if the doctors searched from head to foot they couldn’t find Joel inside of this body for I am not here.

And that was the great mystical statement: “He is not here. He is risen”. That’s the symbology of the Resurrection. We are not entombed in this body. In our Resurrection we rise out of the tomb of this body and realize I am Joel. I am not body. I am Joel and I am not in a body. They could not search this body from top to bottom and find me for I am not here. I do not live in a body. I live in Consciousness. I live in God. I live and move and have my being in God therefore I fill all space. I am here and I am there and I am everywhere. I am where God is and God is where I am for we are one, and that one is not limited to time or to space or to place. And that’s why the materialist fears death because they think that with the end of the body, there comes an end of me. How foolish! I’m not in the body. I never was in the body. I won’t live in the body and I won’t die out of the body for I will never be in the body. And therefore, there is no need to fear death because death is just checking the body at a weigh station while we keep going on.

The all-encompassing power of “I”

If you discover about sixteen issues clamoring for attention in your mind – none of which you’ve chosen – there’s one word that will melt them all away.
It’s a very short word but power-packed with all the authority obtainable in heaven or on earth.
It distinguishes reality from unreality, the infinite from the finite, spiritual from carnal.
That little word is “I”. That’s it, just I.
Bear in mind that God = I Am = Spirit = Soul = Mind = Omnipresence = Christ = Omnipotence = Knowledge = Life = Love = Infinity = Eternality = YourName = I.
It’s easier to simply ponder or meditate on I.

Mystic = actually encountering the Divine..

A mystic is one who has moved from mere belief “systems” or belonging systems to actual inner experiences.
Without a vital spiritual experience ~ we are left with mere “head knowledge”.
This mystery of transformation involves surrendering ~ a yielding of our selves and all we Think we know..because our preconceived ideas, doctrines & theologies won’t fit into the amazing experiences of actually encountering the Divine..

Problem with turning to God for healing

THERE IS A PROBLEM with turning to God for healing. The key word is “turning” but permit me to return to that later.
I, personally, am fully invested in God as the Source of all real healing and it’s for a much too simplistic reason: it seems like an open door to invite people to see the realm of Spirit.
Putting God, His Kingdom, realm and Life ABOVE OUR INITIAL PROBLEM has been the theme and purpose of my two books on the topic. I believe in it just that strongly.
So when a person in a dire condition declares “Yes, yes I believe!” it’s nearly impossible for them to be aware of the degree of truth in their protestation and to what extent they’re embarking on trying to convince God of something they don’t even believe.
BEYOND BELIEF must be their new mantra where knowing, being, resting in pure Spirit becomes a WHOLE NEW FOCUS and trying to con God and anyone else becomes moot.
When the problem becomes nothing more than an awakening and Spirit is seen as one’s very life, wonderful changes miraculously take place – the biggest being your own sudden awareness.

Go where God is – hf

You must give up one to get the other. To experience God you must live where God is, and God is only in the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of Spirit. If you want to catch a fish you go to water. If you want to experience the power of God you must go where God is. And you will not find God in space or time. You will not find God in the human mind or in human thoughts, and you will not find God if you are a physical human being walking this earth on two physical feet. You must face this. You must read this, every word of it. Write it down, listen to it, study it, until you can accept that you can only find God in the Kingdom of God

No one can make you think poison – hf

Now you know no one can make you drink poison. Why should you let anyone make you think poison? Material consciousness is poison. Thinking about matter is poison. Ultimately it must kill you. Every form of human destruction in our world is the same serpent, the only adversary there is.
