SPEAKING IN TONGUES
Is speaking the wisdom of God
In a mystery.
It reaches down into that born again part of you
Your spirit
And pulls up the infinitude of wisdom
That’s already there!

We (unlike disciples) have the Holy Spirit
IF I HAD BEEN ONE OF THE TWELVE (DISCIPLES) WHEN HEARING OF THEIR LORD’S IMPENDING DEATH AND FACED WITH UNSPEAKABLE SORROW, I COULDN’T HAVE DONE ANY BETTER . . . U-N-L-E-S-S .. I HAD HAD THE HOLY SPIRIT AS WE DO NOW. IN A FLIGHT OF FANCY, I CAN IMAGINE TRYING TO TURN THE DISCIPLES’ EYES TO THE “REAL” JESUS, SPIRITUAL AND PERFECT, AND AWAY FROM A SOON-TO-BE-BROKEN BODY. BUT NOW, PRAISE THE LORD, WE HAVE THIS HOLY SPIRIT LIVING ON THE INSIDE OF US.
His body acted as a hindrance to people, especially his disciples.
OF COURSE, JESUS WAS SINLESS. NEVERTHELESS, HIS BODY ACTED AS A HINDRANCE TO PEOPLE – ESPECIALLY HIS DISCIPLES – PREVENTING THEM FROM SEEING HIM AS HE REALLY IS:

Assaulted by negative thoughts?
ARE YOU ASSAULTED BY NEGATIVE THOUGHTS FAR MORE OFTEN THAN YOU’D LIKE TO BE ? . NO SOONER THAN YOU GET ONE ARGUMENT UNDER CONTROL, ANOTHER ARISES MORE UNSETTLING THAN THE LAST ?
There is help for you which can totally frustrate and enervate the carnal mind’s hold that seems to have engulfed you.
Imagine (with your Godly imagination) the situation completely healed. Get really comfortable with the absence of every ungodlike thought and feeling. By all means have the Holy Spirit fully engaged as you do this. Just re-member the last topic that was under assault and let God take over and talk to you about it. Then take another and another and another.
Has complete peace set in yet? Be ready to confront those selfsame lingering thoughts all over again. When can you call it quits? Let “never!” be your mantra: then it will be over.
I don’t want to get into that trite and boring debate about whether the carnal mind is a real, tangible being that must be summarily dealt with or whether it is entirely in the realm of the non-local, non-material. But I urge us all to take carnal suggestions very seriously – long enough to inform them that they have no basis in reality and have no power over us in any guise; and, furthermore that we are not the least bit impressed by their lies and cunning presentments.
Physician, heal thyself!

INTIMATE MUSINGS WITH THE LORD
I wrote a poem a while ago that was dictated to me by the Holy Spirit. It was well received by many but I’m afraid it may have eluded others (For clarification, the Person speaking is God, Himself):
I am God.
I live on the inside of you.
I see as you.
I hear as You.
I think as You.
I feel as You.
I perceive as You.
But make no mistake about it …
I am God.
I have a special reason for bringing up that little poem again: it has turned out to be one of those BREAKTHROUGH gifts that I have applied again and again to help me attain a much higher and more consistent apprehension of God.
He lives on the inside of us, right? And He has created us as well. Of course He created us in His own perfect image and likeness.
Then why are people reluctant to spend more and more time listening to God speaking to them in their spirit after reading His Word? It’s there and then that we hear such precious gems as the above, the perfect answer to our fondest yearning to experience our ONENESS with Him.

One especially sweet experience that I have been having over the past few months (after or during praying in tongues):
“I would do ANYTHING for you!”
“I love yo…u sooo much!”
Robin: “Father, are those recurring sentences – in my mind/spirit – from me to You, or from You to me?”
God: “Yes.”

Although it’s not something you learn, like riding a bicycle, THERE IS A GREAT DEAL YOU CAN DO TO MAKE YOURSELF RECEPTIVE TO THIS PRECIOUS GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. SEE WHAT PEOPLE DO WHEN THEY SPEAK IN TONGUES. IMITATE IT FOR THE PURPOSE OF JUMPSTARTING THE PROCESS IN YOURSELF. UNDERSTAND THAT YOU’RE GETTING FAMILIAR WITH THE PHYSICAL, MECHANICAL ASPECT SO THAT YOU’LL BE FREE TO RECEIVE GOD’S PART – THE IMPARTATION OF HIS SPIRIT INTO YOUR OPEN MIND, SPIRIT, SOUL AND BODY.
Can praying in tongues be learned?
CAN TONGUES BE LEARNED ?
The short answer is “NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT !! . Not from a human being, that is. Praying / Speaking in tongues is a GIFT FROM GOD – a supernatural gift at that!
HOWEVER, there is something very useful that you can do to put your mind and heart in line with receiving this priceless gift. Knowing, by seeing and hearing, what tongues is MECHANICALLY SPEAKING will NOT … I repeat … NOT give you tongues!! But it could help a lot just to see and hear what it is like, as a kind of PREPARATION.
Tongue-speakers are very reluctant to demonstrate it – AND RIGHTFULLY SO – for fear that you will emulate them and (a) nothing happens or, WORSE YET, (b) You learn some mere mechanical contrivance and think you have tongues when you don’t!
Praying in tongues is a GIFT FROM GOD. PERIOD. God never said you couldn’t observe it to know what it looks like. Another Period.
It seems to me that many people make way too much of tongues – like there is something spooky … or, complicated … or, esoteric … or very difficult about praying in tongues. Or, they make way too little of tongues, dismissing it as trivial, crazy gibberish.
Some people would have you believe that it is so ‘out there’ and other-worldly that we’d be best served by leaving it alone. They assign to it fabricated rules and regulations, claiming that our poor Paul didn’t say we could do thus and so. Well, he didn’t say we could use electric toothbrushes either!
Puh-leeeeze, let’s give Paul a break. Why in the world would anyone think that he should have left us 2000 years later, an instruction manual on how to and how not to speak in tongues? There were probably as many variations of tongues on the Day of Pentecost as there were people applying them!
NOW, PLEASE, MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT: Speaking/Praying in tongues is a supernatural gift from God. Something totally amazing will take over in your mind and body when you really have “GOT IT” !!
