Not nothing, not something -RSpira

The reason we think that awareness is nothing is that we think that all of this around us is something. In the waking state there are no things but just consciousness. Deep sleep is not a non conscious nothing. The belief that it is I the body that is experiencing is the real problem. Because we see with our eyes and when we close our eyes we don’t see for that reason we believe that we reside just behind the eyes and we feel that we as a body are aware. We don’t realize that I-awareness is aware. If there If there is a lingering feeling that I awareness is in the body we won’t get it right. The body is experienced not the experiencer. One’s entire experience in New York seems to confirm that belief that I is in the body and experiences it that way. That’s absolutely the crux of the matter. If this knot is untied everything becomes clear. Creativity absolutely is true. Awareness is empty like the TV screen is entirely transparent therefore anything can be produced on it.

Don’t resist fear -RSpira

Be knowingly in presence of awareness.
WITHOUT SLIGHTEST RESISTANCE, LOOK DIRECTLY AT FEAR
Just experience the roar sensation without interpretation, without thoughts. Just referring to the sensation itself, putting the thoughts aside you wouldn’t even know the thoughts had anything to do with the sensation.
AWARENESS CANNOT KNOW FEAR.
Think of the sensation of tingling in the bottom of your feet. This really no difference between that feeling and the feeling of fear if you don’t put a label on it and analyze it. A sensation is one thing and a thought is something completely different. You don’t have to be controlled by thoughts ever again. The sensation of fear Is nothing! You could You could actually live with that sensation your whole life it’s just Awareness of presence that’s all.

Strive with sincerity and honesty -NM

  1. DEVOTEE AND THE BLESSINGS OF
    GOD

The Bhakta pours out his devotion, molds his behavior in every respect in accordance with the will of God. In turn, he finds that God is pleased with him, and this, his
conviction, takes him nearer to God and his love and friendship with Him grow richer and richer. The process of surrendering to the will of God in every respect results in His blessings.

One who is blessed by God is a blissful soul. Being at peace with himself, he looks at the objects of enjoyment with perfect indifference. He is content with whatever he has and is glad to see others happy.

If a person believes that he is blessed by God and is still unhappy, it is better if he
give up this delusion and strive for the coveted Grace with sincerity and honesty.

Divine plenitude and favor is not judged by the objects of sense, but by the internal contentment. This verily is the blessing of God.

A few tender moments with Runta -rjs

RUNTA
My brother had 5 cats, one of which produced a litter of kittens. All the babies were doing fine save one which he explained was the runt of the litter, hence the name “Runta”. He explained that mama had abandoned her because she was so weak and tiny.

This story doesn’t have an entirely happy ending but a few precious moments.

I took Runta to my apartment, kept her in a little bed that I fashioned and placed under the nice warm lamp that I was using to do my college homework. I fed her as best I could with an eyedropper and petted her very gently with one finger.

Runta purred!!!

I wish that were the end of the story but the poor little thing died a few days later.

I can still hear and feel her purring.

Human v Spiritual Consciousness -rjs

SPIRITUAL CONSCIOUSNESS
Every single problem on earth can be solved with spiritual consciousness. But this God-consciousness needs to be developed through taking no thought for the very issues that vex humankind. THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE FOR HUMAN CONSCIOUSNESS: we need to do our level best to lay it aside for spiritual consciousness, knowing that the two, having nothing in common, are constantly at war with one another.

We must take a stand and shun all that would pull us away from our conscious awareness of God’s all-power.

Now here’s the kicker! STOP AT ONCE THINKING IN TERMS OF OPPOSITES: disease & health, lack & supply, abuse & care. A split focus is devastating to the attaining and maintaining of spiritual consciousness. That’s why we look away from so-called human solutions in our endeavor to shore up our concentration on God alone.

Jesus knew, as he trod the globe, that people were seeing false appearances everywhere and he saw right through them! We need to do likewise.

There are NO MAGIC WORDS having power all their own!! One needs the conscious awareness behind the words in order to even be in contact with God. Such awareness comes from God’s grace and generally entails much study and prayerful application of the principles spelled out.

Nothing outside of Awareness, God -RSpira

Nothing outside of Awareness, God.
Only awareness is aware. I always and only refers to awareness’ awareness of itself.
We’re not talking some highfalutin metaphysical abstract philosophy. In any situation that we can name such as having dinner tonight, having stumbled as a child, having a near death situation – nothing has any reality other than the experience of it. We have nothing except the KNOWING of it.
We are now dismantling the edifice human nature has made of reality.
There is no highfalutin separate self philosophy: there’s just knowing. Gradually, gradually, gradually we begin to colonize the way we think and feel to dismantle prior philosophy which our culture has built re reality and our nature and consciousness.
LIKE THE GAME CALLED JANGA. TAKE OUT ONE PIECE OF THE EDIFICE, THEN ANOTHER, THEN ANOTHER, THEN ANOTHER. FINALLY THE WHOLE EDIFICE COMES TUMBLING DOWN. YOU DON’T HAVE TO INVESTIGATE EVERY SINGLE WRONG BELIEF YOU HAVE.
When everything that can be removed from us is removed, what remains is simply shines by itself. It’s not a new experience, it’s just the revelation of the light of our being. Our self-shining being could pass unnoticed by the mind.
Do not fall into the trap of thinking anything in your experience needs to change.
Nothing can veil this knowing because there’s nothing that can veil it.

Nothing has existence -NM

By itself nothing has existence.
Everything needs its own absence.

To be, is to be distinguishable,
to be here and not there,
to be now and not then,
to be thus and not otherwise.

Like water is shaped by the container, so is everything determined by conditions (gunas).
As water remains water regardless of the vessels,
as light remains itself regardless of the colours it brings out,
so does the real remain real,
regardless of conditions in which it is reflected.

Why keep the reflection only in the focus of consciousness?
Why not the real itself?

To know that consciousness and its content are but reflections, changeful and transient, is the focussing of the real. The refusal to see the snake in the rope is the necessary condition for seeing the rope.

One must also know that a rope exists and looks like a snake.
Similarly, one must know that the real exists and is of the nature of witness-consciousness. Of course it is beyond the witness, but to enter it one must first realise the state of pure witnessing.
The awareness of conditions brings one to the unconditioned.

To know the conditioned as conditioned is all that can be said about the unconditioned. Positive terms are mere hints and misleading.

Those who make plans will be born to carry them out. Those who make no plans need not be born.
To me you are your own God. But if you think otherwise, think to the end.

If there be God, then all is God’s and all is for the best. Welcome all that comes with a glad and thankful heart. And love all creatures. This too will take you to your Self.

Surrendering* to God (healing) = Self-enquiry* -RSpira

THE PATH OF NOT KNOWING = SELF SURRENDER, SELF- ENQUIRY, ADVAITA.
IT’S ONLY FULL TIME COMMITMENT.
NOT SURRENDER TO ANYTHING BUT SURRENDER OF EVERYTHING !
RUPERT’S DEFINITION OF GOD IS 🎯 SPOT ON – FITS PERFECTLY WITH JSG, NON-RELIGIOUS.
Resting and intention are mutually exclusive. Rupert was taught to rest in God and have his thinking and his seeing and his hearing rest in God without intention. He was taught this from early childhood.
“O Lord Thou are the Love with which I love thee”
There is no communication from God TO you because there is no you.
THERE IS ONLY GOD’S SELF-AWARE BEING KNOWING ITSELF.
When you pray to the Father you are really surrendering: its exactly what we’re talking about here – self surrender, self inquiry.
The answers come to you in a way you can appreciate. There’s a contraction in your mind that seems to take place. That’s That’s when the answers come in one form or another.
I rjs have often had amazing experiences in which I finally dropped everything (surrendered) and then became imbued with light … and glorious miraculous answers. I see I was experiencing the Self … aware of and loving … itself.
“Faith” is a surrender to infinite consciousness.
It’s a complete surrender of everything that limits you, a complete letting go. It’s another name for self enquiry, another name for traveling back like king Lear traveling back to who he really is which is John Smith.
SURRENDER = SELF-INQUIRY (THE LETTING GO OF ALL THAT IS SUPERFLUOUS TO YOU.
LETTING GO, LETTING GO, LETTING GO, UNTIL YOU ARRIVE AT THAT ELEMENT OF YOURSELF THAT YOU CAN’T LET GO OF.
It’s It’s not something that you do with your mind.
When there is an issue and you want to know whether it would be a good idea to go into it to find out anything about it, if you’re truly on the path of self-inquiry/ surrender, that need won’t arise.
“As long as I can remember trusting that Existence wwl take care of me.” To which Rupert answers yes yes if that’s clear to you that’s all you need to know. You’re free! That is it – you’ve got it all. I surrender my lamott knowledge. You know what is best to take care of this character.

I surrender myself into YOUR safe keeping. Whatever the YOUR is: “Existence,” “the heart of God” … whatever it is … it’s the FEELING ATTITUDE. You surrender the need to make sense of what happens.
This surrender, let go, let go, let go, will take you home.

Free will & choiceless awareness -RSpira

“I CAN’T FIND ANYTHING IN MY EXPERIENCE THAT MIGHT LEGITIMATELY BE CALLED A/MY SEPARATE SELF.”
Rupert really is “there”!
When asked if he feels a separate self when he raises a finger or arm or when he has a conversation or anything at all he says no. I myself rjs would like to add that probably he means not anymore. In other words he has demonstrated that level where he no longer flips back-and-forth.
Rupert shares Jean Klein’s analogy of the separate self and the clown that comes in after the performance and takes a bow for something that he has not done!

Death and beyond -NM

Questioner: When an ordinary man dies, what happens to him?

Maharaj: According to his belief it happens. As life before death is but imagination, so is life after. The dream continues.

Q: And what about the gnani?
M: The gnani does not die because he was never born.

Q: He appears so to others.
M: But not to himself. In himself he is free of things — physical and mental.

Q: Still you must know the state of the man who died. At least from your own past lives.

M: Until I met my Guru I knew so many things. Now I know nothing, for all knowledge is in dream only and not valid. I know myself and I find no life nor death in me, only pure being — not being this or that, but just being. But the moment the mind,
drawing on its stock of memories, begins to imagine, it fills the space with objects and time with events.

As I do not know even this birth, how can I know past births?
It is the mind that, itself in movement, sees everything moving, and having created time, worries about the past and future.

All the universe is cradled in consciousness
(maha tattva), which arises where there is perfect order and harmony (maha sattva). As all waves are in the ocean, so are all things physical and mental in awareness.
Hence awareness itself is all important, not the content of it.

Deepen and broaden your awareness of yourself and all the blessings will flow. You need not seek anything, all will come to
you most naturally and effortlessly.

The five senses and the four functions of the mind — memory, thought, understanding and selfhood; the five elements — earth, water, fire, air and ether; the two aspects of creation — matter and spirit, all are con-
tained in awareness.

Q: Yet, you must believe in having lived before.

M: The scriptures say so, but I know nothing about it. I know myself as I am; as I appeared or will appear is not within my
experience. It is not that I do not remember. In fact there is nothing to remember. Reincarnation implies a reincarnating self. There is no such thing. The bundle of memories and hopes, called the ‘I’, imagines itself existing everlastingly and creates time to accommodate its false eternity: To be, I need no past or future. All experience is born of imagination; I do not imagine, so no birth or death happens to me. Only those who think themselves born can think themselves re-born. You are accusing me of having been born — I plead not guilty!

All exists in awareness and awareness neither dies nor is reborn. It is the changeless reality itself.
All the universe of experience is born with the body and dies with the body; it has its beginning and end in awareness, but
awareness knows no beginning, nor end. If you think it out carefully and brood over it for a long time, you will come to see the
light of awareness in all its clarity and the world will fade out of your vision.

It is like looking at a burning incense stick; you see the stick and the smoke first; when you notice the fiery point, you realize that it has the power to consume mountains of sticks and fill the universe with smoke.

Timelessly the self actualizes itself,
without exhausting its infinite possibilities. In the incense stick simile the stick is the body and the smoke is the mind. As long
as the mind is busy with its contortions, it does not perceive its own source. The Guru comes and turns your attention to the
spark within. By its very nature the mind is outward turned; it always tends to seek for the source of things among the things
themselves; to be told to look for the source within, is, in a way, the beginning of a new life. Awareness takes the place of con-
sciousness; in consciousness there is the ‘I’, who is conscious,
while awareness is undivided; awareness is aware of itself.

The ‘I am’ is a thought, while awareness is not a thought; there is no ‘I am aware’ in awareness. Consciousness is an attribute while awareness is not; one can be aware of being conscious, but not conscious of awareness. God is the totality of consciousness, but awareness is beyond all — being as well as not-being.
