Sheldrake: Does your philosophy relate to Western idealism or not? SPIRA: Yes it goes all the way back to PARMENIDES who says there’s a single unchanging infinite reality from which everyone and everything derived their apparently independent existence. I think exactly the same way and if you were to ask me the nature of this independent reality I would say its consciousness. Spira was educated in the Vedantic Kashmir Shaivite tradition (Not science and Western philosophy). What we perceive as the physical universe is what the activity of that consciousness looks like from a localized prospective.
I reasoned that when we dream at night we dream of the world in our dream mind. We cannot directly from our mind. In order to dream we have to localize ourself and enter into our own imagination as a character in the dream from whose perspective the activity of the outside world appears as the outside world in our dream. This gives us a very good model for the ultimate dreamer in infinite consciousness whose activity is the universe (not an entity made out of matter).

Some teachers teach self enquiry by looking at the body and listening to it, while other teachers teach self inquiry by teaching that we don’t have and we are not a body. But you Jean Klein do both.
We don’t need a teacher to learn who we are or what we are or what Enlightenment is. These things cannot be taught like physics or mathematics can. But we do need a teacher to guide us along the way and yes there is definitely an inner teacher.
MATURITY COMES FROM INQUIRING WHO AM I. THE DIRECT WAY REQUIRES MATURITY.
Looking for happiness and peace etc and not finding it eventually you will find yourself in this objectless dimension.
YES, SOME OF THE TOOLS OF THE PROGRESSIVE WAY CAN BE USED IN THE DIRECT WAY BUT THE DIRECT WAY POINTS DIRECTLY. THAT’ SWHY YOU DON’T GO WITH SEVERAL TEACHERS.
THINKING IN THIS WAY IS PRAYING. WE DON’T ASK FOR ANYTHING.
Deep sleep is like meditation.

SOMETIMES PEOPLE DON’T QUITE “GET” ME. I don’t want to write a post about me but Papa says I gotta do it so here goes. I didn’t ever want to say this coz I so strongly dislike religious terminology but I believe I’m “anointed”. Good grief I said it!! Now all’s I gotta do is vindicate my statement, then I’m done, right Papa? Okay here goes.
I had more on my shoulders than most adults do in a lifetime, not expected to live time and again and I was like 5, 10, 15 years old. I can’t bear to relive the pain of being left so all alone – with a bible!!! – to heal myself when it was so beneficial to keep me down. I don’t know how I survived but I sure did learn to rely entirely on God.
Not physical rape but emotional dogged me since forever, and yet I can smile victoriously as I learned to use each and every incident as a stepping stone to deeper/ higher/ farther exploitations of Holy Spirit than I ever deemed possible.
I guess somewhere along the way I discovered that my niche was in the very process of dis–covering my spiritual being and abode commencing almost at birth!
Btw, lest I forget, you precious reader are not one iota less anointed than I am. Now I think I’ve said it all.

I must make it very clear that I neither believe nor subscribe to the concept that loved (or hated) ones who have passed on are looking down on us from a now fully-enlightened vantage point.
But – STRICTLY FANTASY – if they were, could you imagine them saying “Ooooh looook YOURNAME is just beginning to catch on! It won’t be long now before s/he fully understands why I had to do what I did! There was no other way to get you to where YOU really wanted to be.
