Illusion of guilt creates scapegoats GR

RJS: KEYWORDS
“SHOULD HAVE” & “I DIDN’T DO IT – YOU DID!!!”

The people who give me trouble —I want them to show up?
PURSAH: Make no mistake, you want them to be there, without exception. They’re your scapegoats. If you could just remember that fact the next time some apparently real flamer pushes your buttons, then you could hold your tongue, think with the Holy Spirit and change your mind. You want them to be there, all right. Always. You need it. That’s how you trick yourself into thinking you’re not guilty, or at least not terribly guilty, so you can cope most of the time —for the guilt is somewhere else. As long as you’re stuck in the maze, you can’t see that the whole thing is unnecessary, because you were never really guilty in the first place. The whole maze is an illusion to defend yourself against an illusion. Don’t forget —you believe you really are guilty on a much deeper level than you realize. You need your defense because the alternative is unthinkable to your ego —that you might actually look upon your own guilt —the horror of which is presently covered over by the world. The ego has you convinced that to look upon the hideousness of this guilt is the equivalent of death. To avoid the viciousness that goes along with the entire can of worms, you project it outward, forgetting that what goes around comes around —because it never really left in the first place:
“[ACIM:]
Who sees a brother as a body
sees him as fear’s symbol.
And he will attack, because
what he beholds is his own
fear external to himself, poised
to attack, and howling to unite
with him again. Mistake not the
intensity of rage projected fear
must spawn. It shrieks in wrath,
and claws the air in frantic hope
it can reach to its maker and
devour him. This do the body’s
eyes behold in one whom Heaven
cherishes, the angels love and
God created perfect.”

Not healed coz my work JSG

What this says to me is that I don’t get to have good health and other favors because I did my prayerful work (the un-thought implication being that others are left out). No, I get to see everyone healed, whole and happy!

Health does not come through my understanding. This health must come as the activity of the Christ, not because of my understanding — not because of what I know, or do not know. I am a willing instrument, Father. I am willing to be still; I am willing to let the activity of Thy being be my being and Thy grace the sufficiency unto this individual or this situation. “I can of mine own self do nothing. . . .” I, the Son, am but the instrument for I, the Father.”

Big mistake illusion for Truth GR

YOUR HAVING SUBSTITUTED ILLUSION FOR TRUTH WAS AN ENORMOUS MISTAKE !
○●○●○●○●○●○●○
You do not realize the magnitude of that one error. It was so vast and so completely incredible that from it a world of total unreality had to emerge. What else could come of it? Its fragmented aspects are fearful enough, as you begin to look at them. But nothing you have seen begins to show you the enormity of the original error, which seemed to cast you out of Heaven, to shatter knowledge into meaningless bits of disunited perceptions, and to force you to make further substitutions.

‘Gary’ getting it straight GR

GARY: All right. I don’t want to seem stupid, but to make sure I understand: You’re saying the Course is purely non-dualistic, meaning that of the two seeming worlds, the world of God and the world of man, only the world of God is true and He doesn’t interact with the false world —but the Holy Spirit is here to guide us home. When the Course makes statements about God weeping for His children and stuff like that, you have to take it symbolically as the Holy Spirit wanting us to choose His Voice instead of the ego’s? PURSAH: Exactly. Very good. You’re not stupid, Gary —although your ego would like for you to be. The ego’s entire world is a stupid idea, because it’s based on a stupid decision.

Distinction bet ACIM & all else GR

[… W]e must make an enormous and firm distinction between A Course in Miracles and virtually every other spiritual thought system in existence —from prehistoric, to ancient Egyptian, to Lao Tzu, to aspects of Hinduism, to Zoroastrianism, to The Old Testament, to the Koran, to the New Testament, and to other, neo-dualistic systems. Every one of them is a system of duality that has some kind of a Source —usually God or Gods —being the creator in some way of that which is not itself, and then responding to it or interacting with it.

Meditation > awareness all day JSG

Through meditation, we become aware of the presence of the Christ, and this awareness remains with us all day and all night as we go about our human existence. This awareness enters into our every experience and prospers every endeavor. This consciousness of the presence of the Christ is a light unto our feet and a guiding star unto our aspirations. It is the Presence that goes before us to make the crooked places straight. It is the quality in our consciousness that makes us understood and appreciated by others.

ACIM described by Renard

The COURSE is in Iambic Pentameter
●○●○●○●○●○●○
For J, the Course is a work of art, not a science project. It’s a complete presentation given on different levels. You have to grant him some artistic license. Much of the Course is presented in Shakespearean blank verse, or iambic pentameter. Do you know why? GARY: I have not a freakin’idea. ARTEN: Not only is it beautiful, but it forces you to read the Course more slowly and carefully. Also, it tends to attract long-term students who are serious about learning it. Obviously, the Course isn’t for everyone. Or as we said before, at least not everyone all at once.
