THE DANCING WU LI MASTERS

In English, which is an atonal language,… different ideograms are written and pronounced the same way. For example, there are over eighty different “Wu”s in Chinese, all of which are spelled and pronounced the same way in English. Al Huang has taken five of these “Wu”s, each of which, when combined with “Li,”produces a different “Wu Li,” each with the same English spelling, and each pronounced (in English) “Woo Lee.” The first Wu Li means “Patterns of Organic Energy.”This is the Chinese way of saying “physics.” (Wu means “matter”or “energy”). The second Wu Li means “My Way.” (Wu means “mine”or “self.”) The third Wu Li means “Nonsense.”(Wu means “void”or “nonbeing.”) The fourth Wu Li means “I Clutch My Ideas.”(Wu means “to make a fist”or “clutch with a closed hand.”) The fifth Wu Li means “Enlightenment.”(Wu means “enlightenment”or “my heart/ my mind.”) If we were to stand behind a master weaver as he begins to work his loom, we would see, at first, not cloth, but a multitude of brightly colored threads from which he picks and chooses with his expert eye, and feeds into the moving shuttle. As we continue to watch, the threads blend one into the other, a fabric appears, and on the fabric, behold! A pattern emerges. In a similar manner, Al Huang has created a beautiful tapestry from his own epistemological loom:

Extra-Dimensionality of the New Creation

Two statements at the beginning of Revelation 21 affirm that the new creation exists in dimensions (or their equivalent) entirely independent of the ones we now experience: I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away The old order of things has passed away. He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!”

RESOLUTIONS TO PARADOXES IN THE BIBLE
When we who accept the authority of Christ and His Word encounter doctrinal disparity on a particular issue, such as spiritual gifts and the necessity of baptism, we can be assured of the need to delve into the deeper questions and paradoxes on which our conflict rests and work toward resolution at these deeper levels. If we will use our disagreements as opportunities to grow in oneness through doing research and seeking greater depths of wisdom and understanding, we may find more nonbelievers attracted to our faith and interested in our dialogue. (I tend to prefer dialogue over debate because it leads to contemplation more than to conquest.)

ONE GREAT IRONY MUST BE EXPOSED. Many who argue that the existence of evil and suffering proves the nonexistence of an all-powerful, all-loving Creator have no idea that it proves just the opposite. Naturalistic materialism, the notion that the natural world accounts for itself and needs no outside explanation, cannot account for the evil and cruelty we see among humans. Survival of the fittest does not result in the behavior humans exhibit all over the planet toward the land itself or, worse yet, toward plants, animals, and fellow humans.

MAKING THOSE TIMELY CONNECTIONS
When we think in terms of events developing as time goes by, we are subscribing to a 3D construct of ourselves, like the pilot who gives the control tower her location in terms of distance – not only north and east – of a given point, but also advises them of her altitude. This dynamic, according to Newton, and most Christians I know, moves forward in one direction and in one-dimensional time. We need a Big Apple to fall on our collective head to accept the fact that we live in – at least – a four-dimensional realm, borne out by the special theory of relativity in which things do not move forward but remain static and everything that we, in all our prayers, hope for, already exists.

WHAT IS EXISTENCE ?
Light, as we know it, consists of wave-like behavior as well as particle-like behavior which only belong to our interactions with it. Light doesn’t have any properties whatsoever of its own: without us, it simply does not exist.This is hard for us to wrap our finite minds around. But let me reiterate: without us, light does not exist. Now I hope you’re sitting down for this one – without light, WE don’t exist!! In short, our precious world (I’m being facetious) – without us – doesn’t exist!
