ACIM doesn’t tell what to see, but removes prejudice -acim

A Course in miracles is not telling us what to see but instead aims to take all prejudice from our minds so we can see clearly. This is the exact opposite of the worldly view where we are continually told what to see and and the meaning we are to give it.

Jesus told us we must fast from the worldly ways to begin to see the Kingdom of God. Stepping away from these ideas that have been implanted in our minds about the meaning of everything is where we start. This return to the way of wonder is the beginning of true wisdom.
People are continually trying to reconcile worldly ways and the Kingdom of God. They cannot be reconciled. It is said, if God be true then everyman a liar.

Give up business? -RM

Should I give up my business and take
to reading books on Vedanta?

“If the objects have an independent
existence, i.e., if they exist anywhere apart
from you, then it may be possible for you
to go away from them. But they don’t exist
apart from you; they owe their existence
to you, your thought. So, where can you
go, to escape them? As for reading books
on Vedanta, you may go on reading any
number of them. They can only tell you,
‘Realise the Self within you’. The Self
cannot be found in books. You have
to find it out for yourself, in yourself.

The world or objects or thoughts of
them are like the shadow of a man,
which the man cannot flee from.
They will be with you always,
till you realise the Self.”

Consciousness is original state -NM

N.MAHARAJ:” Consciousness is everywhere, latent or otherwise. First, there is Consciousness, then came everything, the sky, the earth, and all. “
Visitor: This Consciousness, it is not the same as the ‘ I Am’, the Self Consciousness, is it?
M:” Whenever we think of Consciousness we think of the body, but that is an error. The original state was there before the waking and sleep states.”
V: The ‘ I Am’ dissolves after death, so it is not the same.
M:” Are you speaking now of the individual personality or the Universal Consciousness?”
V: The Universal Self.
M:” The Consciousness that prevails is the Universal Consciousness. The world is born out of that, and not from the point of view of the individual personality”
V: What is the relationship between Universal Consciousness and the ‘I Amness’?
M:” The spark of the incense stick and the whole of it- that is the relationship. That Consciousness which prevails before you are aware of the two states is the Universal Consciousness. You will not learn this through your thoughts, but when you meditate, that Consciousness of Being will merge into Universal Consciousness, and only in that way will you understand it. The Universal Consciousness has always been, its power is always present. Its power of creation has given rise to this world, it has produced this Prakriti and Purusa, and its soul is the Universal Consciousness.
It is spontaneous, manifest, dynamic Spirit. It has no aspect. It is all-pervading. I am talking about the Vedic Principle, Vedic raw material, out of which this flow has started. That Universal life force pervades everything, but it has no personality or individuality.”

Not thinking to get enlightened = already enlightened -RAdams

The whole idea is you have to let go of all types of longings, wantings, desires. You have to become a true devotee. It means you don’t care anymore. You’re not interested in getting anywhere or trying to do anything. Simply get lost in the teaching itself. Without looking for answers, without trying to become enlightened. Without saying I have to do this, I have to do that. You just live every moment, by moment, by moment in devotion, in love, in joy, not thinking whether you’re going to get enlightened or not get enlightened. Whether you’ll make it in this life or not. The person who is like this is already enlightened, already free.

Right identification => total freedom now -RAdams

“You have to make the right identification. Are you consciousness or are you the [person]? If you believe you are consciousness then you begin to act like consciousness. You will stop worrying, you will stop fearing, you will stop thinking something is wrong someplace. You will feel all is well. Everything is unfolding as it should.

You will be at peace with yourself and the world. But you will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are all-pervading. Your essence is everywhere and you are total freedom. Right now! Right this minute. You are totally free of any problem that has ever been bothering you.

You are totally free right this minute of anything, of everybody. You’re totally free. … Feel it. You are free! You’re no longer in bondage to person, place or thing. You are infinite freedom, infinite bliss, infinite love. This is your real nature. Love the Self. Love the Self always, and you will always be happy.”

~ Robert Adams (20th century American Advaita mystic)

“[As you begin to awaken] you become more peaceful, more loving, kinder. You begin to understand that there … is nothing to analyze, nothing to discover, nothing to really do, but to be yourself just the way you are. There is no one around that can tell you anything. There is no book around that can teach you anything. You are the one right now. You are the one you’ve always been looking for. You are that! Right this minute, right now, incomprehensible beauty and joy. That bliss that you hear about is yours. It is yours right this moment.”

~ Robert Adams (20th century American Advaita mystic)

Pure awareness is emptiness. Everything comes from nothing. -RAdams

“You have to drop everything you ever learnt. Everything that you’ve learnt in school, in your travels. All of this must be given up if you want to be free, if you want to be liberated. Liberation is your very nature, your swarrupa [true nature]. Absolute reality is what you really are. Pure awareness. But it’s emptiness. These things are totally empty of anything.

Pure awareness, absolute reality, does not carry any knowledge [with] it. It does not contain any bit of knowledge whatsoever. It is emptiness. Total absolute emptiness. Emptiness is what makes the universe comes to pass. It is out of the emptiness that the universe grows. Everything comes from nothing.”

Intimate science is consciousness -RSpira

“If we want to know the nature of the world, we have to know the nature of that with which the world is known. The ultimate science is not the science of physics; it is the science of Consciousness.

Our culture now finds itself in a similar position to that in which it found itself in the middle of the sixteenth century. When Copernicus presented his ideas about the heliocentric universe, he ushered in a new era of science that replaced the old religious worldview. Society had outgrown the forms it had created to accommodate itself.

We are now at a similar stage. Our society has outgrown the forms that conventional science created to accommodate itself, and the signs of this are to be found everywhere. The new science is the science of Consciousness. Sooner or later we have to have the courage to face that fact. We can no longer afford to ignore it.”
