New Age vs Christianity

To fellow Christians:
Here’s a little something that’s been on my mind for some time now. We don’t need to assume that fresh new revelations that come to us from the Holy Spirit belong to the New Age Movement. And we need not cling for dear life to antiquated theology in hopes of preserving our spiritual understanding. We are not the ones who are delimiting God: they are. Just imagine Jesus at the transfiguration – what a sight to behold! We believe a whole host of other pretty weird things too, without qualification. Witness the walking through walls, multiplying food and wine, healing all sickness, disease and death, including his own! Now finally science is catching up and dis-covering that God was at the helm all along!
The New Age Movement wants to say it’s all about Quantum Physics. Not so! That’s God’s realm, the dimension of pure Spirit. All the mind-boggling findings that we read about in the literature belong to God alone, not the creativity of the mortal mind.
There’s so much wrong with religion that I personally have elected to dissociate myself from it. As a result my love for God and His Son, Jesus, has grown exponentially. And that’s what distinguishes Christianity from the New Age Movement.

Coming with the clouds (Dan Shaffer)

A good majority of Christianity believes in the 2nd coming of Christ.
Those who have been following my posts know that I teach Christ is come.
He is already here, within us. Jesus said, the Kingdom of God is within us.
Why would God’s kingdom still be coming if it is already within?
Today, I want us to look carefully at
Revelation 1:7
“Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen.”

The key words for this text on Christ’s return are: “even those that pierced him”
Can this be any clearer that the ones responsible for crucifying Jesus would still be alive to see him return.
Furthermore, since this is written in Revelation we know John is not referring to Jesus appearances after the resurrection. At the time of this writing John is still referring to it as a future event.

Does not this correlate with what Jesus said in Matthew 24:34-35?
“Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”
Heaven and Earth was the Jewish symbol for their Temple.
So here Jesus is being very explicit and specifying that their generation will not pass away until he returns and their Temple is destroyed.
We know from history the Jewish temple was destroyed in 70 AD along with Jerusalem.

So the million dollar question is how, where and when did Jesus return around 70 AD?
This question might be best answered by Josephus, who was a Jewish historian commissioned the Romans, to document the historical accounts leading up to and during the destruction of Jerusalem.

“on the one-and-twentieth day of the month Artemisius, [Jyar,] a certain prodigious and incredible phenomenon appeared; I suppose the account of it would seem to be a fable, were it not related by those that saw it, and were not the events that followed it of so considerable a nature as to deserve such signals; for, before sun-setting, chariots and troops of soldiers in their armour were seen running about among the clouds, and surrounding of cities . Moreover, at that feast which we call Pentecost, as the priests were going by night into the inner [court of the] temple, as their custom was, to perform their sacred ministrations, they said that, in the first place, they felt a quaking , and heard a great noise, and after that they heard a sound as of a great multitude, saying, “Let us remove hence.”

This event was independently documented by Tacitus, who was a Roman historian commissioned to also document the war against the Jews and Jerusalem:

“Prodigies had occurred, but their expiation by the offering of victims or solemn vows is held to be unlawful by a nation which is the slave of superstition and the enemy of true beliefs. In the sky appeared a vision of armies in conflict, of glittering armour. A sudden lightning flash from the clouds lit up the Temple. The doors of the holy place abruptly opened, a superhuman voice was heard to declare that the gods were leaving it, and in the same instant came the rushing tumult of their departure. Few people placed a sinister interpretation upon this. The majority were convinced that the ancient scriptures of their priests alluded to the present as the very time when the Orient would triumph and from Judaea would go forth men destined to rule the world.” (Histories, Book 5, v. 13).

I hope this piques your interest to read and study these historical accounts.
You will be amazed to find the wealth and treasure in the fulfilment of Old and New Testament prophecy that is documented.
There is now tremendous evidence documented by historians and Scholars that show that the Book of Revelation was written between 65 and 68ad.
I’ve only scratched the surface here, there is much, much more.

Handling distractions

Ever get distracted?
Feel like there are two of you?
One who keeps drifting off
And the other keeps coming back
To God?

Do you finally remember
It was never your conscious decision
To go back to that place again,
Knowing full well God holds everything
You could ever want or need?

Take the bull by the horns this time.
When you feel that familiar tug,
There is no overwhelmingly
Powerful hold on you;
Nor a guy in a red suit.
Just a suggestion wafting from
That place you go to
No longer.

Scary places in your mind

Are there certain places in your mind
(Hey, it’s just me again, don’t worry.)
Certain private places where
things just simply are accepted as
“The way things are”?
You see God everywhere …
In everything …
Well, … almost!
I want to tell you, if I may …
That’s Not Good Enough!!!

It’s those little places, little spaces,
That you wanna clear out
‘Coz they loom large
At the wrong-est time
Here’s what you can do:

‘See’ God right there
In that scary place
INSTEAD OF
What your frightened mind believes
Because in fact
The Spiritual truth is
The Way Things Really Are!!!

Christianity is not religion

CONVERSATION AMONG FRIENDS ABOUT CHRISYIANITY VS RELIGION

POSTED: “Christianity is NOT religion. Religion is humanistic. It promotes self-potential of good or evil. It is performance-based.”

AAA I think you’re just playing with words…”religion” can be humanistic, empty, even evil: “If any man among you seem to be religious and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. (James1:26)

BBB I do not do religon.

CCC Green Not all “religion” is wrong or empty or self-serving — it’s just a word that indicates a set of beliefs. PURE RELIGION (see — there is such a thing) and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.(James 1:27) The trick is to know the difference and to be able- by God’s grace- to have the RIGHT kind of religion. It’s really just a word — and not a “dirty” one, at that!

DDD Please see the post below for a complete explanation.

EEE Sorry to vent, but I just don’t understand how you can say Christianity “Is not a religion”. Of course it is! People will know whether our personal Christianity is vain or if it is pure and undefiled – we won’t have to pretend that it is not a religion.

FFF definition that denotes bondage (Hebrew meaning)I love words, they are important and God’s word says to choose our words carefully. The Latin term religiō, origin of the modern lexeme religion (via Old French/Middle Latin[2]) is of ultimately obscure etymology. It is recorded beginning in the 1st century BC, i.e. in Classical Latin at the beginning of the Roman Empire, notably by Cicero, in the sense of “scrupulous or strict observance of the traditional cultus”. KKK Rest, sweet rest, not work at all!

LLL Surely James 1:27 is part of Christianity though. Right?

MMM James explains that, “If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless” (James 1:26,27). The Greek word that he uses is threskeia, meaning “worship or religion.” Misrepresentation of the character of God in our behavior often indicates that we are engaging in “worthless religion.” James continues, though, to use threskeia in a positive way when he refers to “pure and undefiled religion” (James 1:27), wherein the worth-ship of God’s character is genuinely expressed in practical ministry to orphans and widows, and in the expression of the purity of God’s character. In that case genuine Christian worship transpires as we are receptive to the activity of God and express the worth-ship of His character in our behavior.

In light of the predominantly negative inferences of the word “religion” in the New Testament, we should avoid applying this word to Christianity. -(excerpt from Christianity is not religion, see post below).

NNN The intent of this post is to bring clarity to Christians and with that spirit in mind, I offer the following article to help those struggling with understanding the difference between Christianity and religion. The Latin word from which the English word “religion” is derived means “to bind up.” Jesus did not come to bind us up in rules and regulations or rituals of devotion, but to set us free to be man as God intended. http://www.christinyou.net/pages/Xnotrel.html

OOO Amen 💙

PPP Love this post….
I care more about a person and their personal relationship with the Lord, than a title we choose to give ourselves.

QQQ All religion is a failure. Church is even a trap if we’re not careful. Jesus is the only answer. The older I get the more I understand this.

RRR I completely understand what was posted. And sixth months ago I would of misinterpreted his intent. What I have experienced in my life, is often I became so imbedded in a title, that I lost the point behind what I believed in. And I have come to realize is that for me, I acknowledge I am a creation of a deep and loving God. And our sweet God has imbedded in me, as well as most humans, the emotion that desires to belong. As we examine the life of Jesus Christ he was the soul that has allowed us to forwever belong in his eternal kingdom. That was Jesus’s mission; he wants us to be with him in heaven. And as creations of Christ, knowing that we desire to belong, owning or expressing a title of belief for many, makes them feel wanted and part of something. We have many individuals who are lonely. To understanding the point and the why behind it l, has helps me to feel that is nothing wrong with that, except that it can lead into a false belief system, which than can lead into legalism within our church walls. And that false belief and legalism can happen in any church regardless of denomination. The title, the words like Judaism, Catholism, or Christianity, are all just titles we have choose to give ourselves. Why are we at many levels as a society l, so fixated on the title people chose to use, and less on loving and accepting the diversity in which a person may offer to celebrate their relationship with the Lord? A title doesn’t indicate religion, its people who have indicated religion.

SSS It’s not about religion–it’s about relationship. All Christ followers should understand this. 🙂

Ferion or boson

FERION OR BOSON
At a fundamental level, everything we know of in this Universe is made of the same few fundamental particles: quarks, gluons, electrons and photons, which combine to give us atoms, which in turn make up all the molecules, cells, organs and living creatures inhabiting our world today. But how do we go from these tiny scales where everything looks so similar to the huge diversity of what exists at a larger, more macroscopic scale?
The secret is encoded in a single quantum rule that governs how it all works: the Pauli exclusion principle.

Baby steps

WHAT IF THAT BATHROOM WERE YOUR MIND? jes’ sayin’ [rjs]
○●□■♤◇♧♧♡♤□●○○■♧♧♡♡■□●○♤

Dont clean the house. Thats too hard. Clean a bathroom.
Put some music on. Clean it like an old friend is gonna sit in there.
Then go sit down. After awhile, go look at that clean bathroom.
The pride of seeing what you’ve accomplished will motivate you. Maybe the bedroom will be doable.

Baby steps.
Do a little, do it right!
Maybe it will shed some light!
Moving you to do some more
That’s what baby-steps are for!
Overwhelmed? That’s OK!
Listen to these words I say!
Push yourself to make a start
And watch what happens in your heart!
