A TREATMENT OF Matthew 5:43-48

A TREATMENT OF Matthew 5:43-48

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ [44] But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, [45] that you may BE [emphasis mine] children of your Father in heaven. [You already are, but need to realize it.] He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. [God loves everyone equally.] [46] If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? [Not looking for remuneration, but attitude adjustment.] Are not even the tax collectors doing that? [Lol] [47] And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? [48] Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

REPEAT: ‘BE PERFECT … AS YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER IS PERFECT.’
There’s no room for ambiguity here!

The BOTTOM LINE: If you want to fulfill God’s dictum to be perfect, you’ll need to appeal to the spiritual dimension where nothing exists but divine perfection, Bringing it Home…, to the truth of who we all are! <3

After setting the Bible down

THE GREATEST VALUE TO BE OBTAINED FROM READING THE BIBLE IS FOUND AFTER YOU SET IT DOWN. [caps mine RJS] The book is a collection of writings that act as a pointer. It is not pointing to itself, but to the truth of the life that you are. To realize the truth, the Christ of your being, you have to drop all external aids, abandon even your belief in a personal self, that the Divine may been realized as your true Life. Otherwise, you will remain a captive of the natural mind, which has no capacity to know the things of the Spirit.

Overcoming time – HF

OVERCOMING T-I-M-E :
There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven- [2] A time to give birth and a time to die; A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted. [3] A time to kill and a time to heal; A time to tear down and a time to build up. [4] A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance. [5] A time to throw stones and a time to gather stones; A time to embrace and a time to shun embracing. [6] A time to search and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep and a time to throw away. [7] A time to tear apart and a time to sew together; A time to be silent and a time to speak. [8] A time to love and a time to hate; A time for war and a time for peace. [9] What profit is there to the worker from that in which he toils? [10] I have seen the task which God has given the sons of men with which to occupy themselves.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-10 NASB

But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law.
Galatians 4:4 kjv
But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law.
Galatians 4:4 NASB

NO PAST, NO FUTURE: N-O-W IS ALL THERE IS :
With a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth.

Sharon DuVall: Robin, as I was reading the scriptures you posted about time I also noticed the pair of opposites…time for this and that…we can see what tree that is coming from…Tree of Life is timeless, ageless, ONEness, ISness, ASness, NOWness…whoohoo!

If you take the time and dwell…

[… Y]ou are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. [10] If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. [11] But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
Romans 8:9-11 NASB
……….
You’re not in the fleshly mind but in the Spirit if the Spirit of God dwells in you, i.e., if you’ve taken the time and the effort to become Spiritually conscious.

Wisdom from Message Bible

We, of course, have plenty of wisdom to pass on to you once you get your feet on firm spiritual ground, but it’s not popular wisdom, the fashionable wisdom of high-priced experts that will be out-of-date in a year or so. God’s wisdom is something mysterious that goes deep into the interior of his purposes. You don’t find it lying around on the surface. It’s not the latest message, but more like the oldest—what God determined as the way to bring out his best in us, long before we ever arrived on the scene. The experts of our day haven’t a clue about what this eternal plan is. If they had, they wouldn’t have killed the Master of the God-designed life on a cross. That’s why we have this Scripture text: No one’s ever seen or heard anything like this, Never so much as imagined anything quite like it— What God has arranged for those who love him. But you’ve seen and heard it because God by his Spirit has brought it all out into the open before you.
1 Corinthians 2:6 MSG

Absent from the body = present with the Lord

2 Cor 5:8

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. [2] For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: [3] If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. [4] For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. [5] Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. [6] Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: [7] (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) [8] We are confident, I say , and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. [9] Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. [10] For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. [11] Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. [12] For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart. [13] For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause. [14] For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: [15] And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. [16] Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. [17] Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. [18] And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; [19] To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. [20] Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. [21] For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
2 Corinthians 5:1-21 KJV

Spiritualize or materialize Bible

Some people spiritualize the Bible
Way, way, way too much.
Should I be asking to have my
Cloak and parchment brought to me
In order to be “up there” like Paul?

Other people materialize the Bible
Way, way, way too much.
Is there nothing sacrosanct
To be found among its pages?
And why will I be thought a
“Hairy tick” if I glean some precious
Inspiration that points me to God?

Is there no great I AM within me
That in full glory of Oneness
Is none other than the Holy Spirit
Telling me so?

We can, should and must destroy
All blameworthy malevolent images
Basking ‘tween our ears
And hear the ONE who is LOVE,
Who is GOD.
