Been a strange day .. Deliberated for 10 min on the wisdom of wearing lace with checkered pants .. Did so & went out .. Young black fellow called out to me “What a great outfit!” to which I gratefully responded “Thanks! You just made my day!” .. In my park (Dag Hammarskjold) a political demonstration was being held to the left of me and a policemen’s celebration to the right .. I sat smack dab in between, listening to Herb and sporting my checkers & lace.
