Meditation: you watching you

ON MEDITATION
Have you ever got yourself in a nice comfortable position in which to focus on nothing but divine Spirit, God, Infinite Truth? (Actually you already had too many descriptive words for the entirely spiritual, wordless connection you were seeking.)
Again and again and again the world and the flesh (the same thing) presented itself so convincingly that you almost succumbed and gave up your quest.
But you knew that the goal was infinitely loftier and didn’t even remotely resemble anything the world or the flesh could display: you were going for the not only word-less but also thought-less realm of God.
So rather than jamming up your thoughts you determined to just let them flow right on by. No thought was worthy of your attention, none whatsoever.
There you were, free at last! You had the Mind of God … but that was a thought, so you just let it float on by. You got a glimpse of the whole world healed and whole … and let those thoughts keep going on out.
Then you saw the strangest thing you’ve ever seen! You saw the person who was making this supreme effort. There he was and you were watching him! You, behind the scenes, truly having no body and no mortal mind whatsoever – you were somewhere behind your own eyes – You were watching … you!!!
The very I that was watching you is the real You because it’s the selfsame I that is God.
